King Priam discovers Helen sitting by herself on the ramparts, watching the gathered Achaean army below. He sits with her as she recounts her past and the people she knew. Below, Paris and Menelaus measure the field for combat. I tied the sound of the English horn to Helen because of its bittersweet timbre.
